Crashing | Critical Path | Fast Tracking | Time Management
Which of the following is the BEST thing to do to try complete a project two days earlier?
A. Tell senior management that project's critical path does not allow the project to be finished earlier.
B. Tell your boss.
C. Meet with the team and look for options for crashing or fast tracking the critical path.
D. Work hard and see what the project status is next month.
george (2¾years ago):
Option C is the only possible.
A: It's not the first thing to do and not the best.
B: It is assumed that you're a project manager, and you're the only "boss" in the project. Your boss has nothing to do with time management in your project.
D: "work hard" is a very vague definition of project control. Either you work hard or not hard, critical path won't be changed

i'd say the answer is D.
C is not the BEST, because crashing or fast tracking increases risks and can cause the project to overrun.
since there is no mention of a change in schedule mentioned, the project manager should NOT change the schedule on a whim.
