Communications Management | Human Resource Management | Stakeholder
Project information has been distributed according to the communications management plan. Some project deliverables have been changed in accordance with the project management plan. One stakeholder expressed surprise to the project manager upon hearing of a previously published change to a project deliverable. All stakeholders received the communication containing notification of the change. What should the project manager do?
A. Determine why the stakeholder did not receive the information and let him know when it was published.
B. Ask the functional manager why the stakeholder did not understand his responsibility.
C. Review the communications management plan and make revision if necessary.
D. Address the situation in the next steering committee meeting so others do not miss published changes.

I vote for c. If the information was missed it means that it is possible to miss it without any consequences. The project manager discovered this situation only when the stakeholder raised this concern. It means that many other pieces of information were missed, but nobody informed the project manager about it.
The communication management plan is defective, for sure.
angel (10months ago):
the first thing to do is (C), check if the stakeholder is in the list of comm plans.
the project manager should first check if the plans is correct in the first place before he starts blaming (B).
he should then do (D) after checking (C).
and if the stakeholder is infact listed in the comm plans, then he can do (A).
